Health and Safety has to be a priority for any business. It must not however come to be an unreasonable burden on a business, or a stick with which to beat business owners. Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and materials data sheets must be gathered and used to minimise risk. All too often the paperwork is gathered meticulously but sits in a file until the accident has happened, rather than being used to minimise or mitigate the risk. We can help companies approach Health and Safety proactively and positively, and to prepare for external assessment to OHSAS 18000 if they wish.

We have a particular expertise in the identification and management of the risk which substance abuse can present in the workplace. Substance abuse can cause accidents, staff sickness, reputational issues and more problems to business. Our principal consultant is the former national manager for drink and drugs driving casework at the Forensic Science Service, and has many years' experience managing large teams in manufacturing, including high risk environments. We offer a service to help companies identify risks, and prepare policies and procedures to manage those risks in the best way for the company and its directors. We deliver training to management teams and staff as part of the implementation of the programme. If the risk indicates that drug testing is appropriate, we will identify the best way of conducting the tests, and advise on the specification of testing services which the company should procure.
